New iPhones Hit Stores!

New York, New York
— September 20, 2025

Apple’s launch days always bring a mix of hype, excitement, and lines wrapping around Manhattan blocks — and this year was no different. On launch day for the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air, New Yorkers flocked to Apple Stores across the city to get their first look at the new devices.

Tim Cook himself kicked things off at Apple’s iconic Fifth Avenue flagship, reopening the glass cube entrance and greeting fans lining up for hours. Across town, I stopped by the Upper West Side Apple Store to capture some of the energy and get hands-on with the new devices.

The iPhone 17 feels like Apple’s boldest upgrade in years, with a refined design and performance boosts that drew plenty of “wow” moments from the crowd. The new iPhone Air, Apple’s lighter and thinner take on the premium iPhone experience, had people crowding around the demo tables for first impressions.

NYC’s tech scene always comes alive for these launches — it’s not just about the hardware, but about the culture and buzz that Apple manages to create. From the Upper West Side to Fifth Avenue, Apple turned Manhattan into the epicenter of launch-day energy.

For Wall Street Game Notes, it’s another reminder that Apple continues to be more than a stock or a tech company — it’s a cultural force. And judging from today’s lines, the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air are already off to a hot start.
