Apple Earnings Preview

If you wanna talk about still having it at +60 years old, go check out Brad Pitt and Apple’s F1 movie! I saw it a few weeks ago. It is great. He is crushing it. He’s got the $30 million jawline line with the skills to back it up.

At least that’s reported how much he took home. Apple has taken in about $500 million at the box office. That money is going right into their services business, which is growing. Why am I telling you this? Because Apple’s fiscal Q3 call is coming up this week, Thursday after the close.

Here are three things to think about going into that call if you’re thinking about making a move here.

Number 1 — the numbers. Apple is sitting about $209 a share. It is down 14% in 2025. It is down 6% if you look at the full one year chart and only up about 6% in the last two years.

Of the 12 analysts at Visible Alpha who cover the stock, nine have a buy rating on it, two have a hold, and one has a sell. They are looking at an average price target of $233, about a 10%-12% upside from where it currently sits today. Goldman Sachs is a little more bullish. Their average price target is $250, signaling about 20% upside to from where it is today.

Number 2 — Products. A big risk to the products business is tariffs, and that has been a big reason why the stock has been so beaten down relative to the others in the Mag-7. They are facing tariffs across the board on all of their products as they are primarily made around the world and mostly in China. They are also dealing with AI. They’ve not convinced the investor community that they are going to win out in AI over the long run. They’ve delayed their launch of the upgraded Siri.

Meanwhile, Meta has put out a standalone application that you can talk to just like you should be able to with Siri. On the positive side, they are completely revamping their software design, look, and feel across all devices. It is called Apple “Liquid Glass”. It comes out this fall. I think it’s gonna generate a lot of excitement and will probably drive sales as people wanna come in, maybe get a new device, a new iPhone.

Also, in the win column, their chips are continuing to be better, more powerful, and efficient. As people use heavier applications that run on AI, they’re going to need more powerful devices. I think that might force some people who’ve had iPhones for 3, 5 plus years to come in to upgrade to have a better user experience and a faster, lower latency device.

Number 3 — the services side of the business, this is growing and expected to continue to grow to make up about 30% of Apple’s overall revenue. They have made strong investments in content. The Apple F1 movie a great investment. Apple TV plus is doing well. Hit shows like Severance.

But there’s a massive risk to that side of the business that’s worth mentioning here. That is the exclusive partnership with Google to be the default search engine on Apple devices. That is for $20 billion on an annual basis which is at risk due to an antitrust legal battle. That makes up about 14% of Apple’s overall services revenue.

Overall, they’re looking at an $88.9 revenue number and a $1.42 earnings per share number.

I will have a post earnings video for you on that as well as all the big tech names reporting this week and next as we make our way through earning seasons.
